Invitation to New Life in Christ
"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Romans 10:9-10.
AcceptThe first thing to do is to accept that all people need salvation, basically that all of us are lost without God. We make mistakes, we mess up, we mean well and still don't get it right. In other words, we sin. Sin is a strong word, but truthfully, that's what the Bible calls it. So, it's important to just accept that without God, we're lost. Acceptance is the key.

BelieveAfter we accept that we need God, the next thing to do is to believe God's solution. God's answer for us is to believe in Jesus Christ and what Jesus did when He died on the cross as a substitutionary payment for people's sins. It's hard for our human intellect to understand that, so it takes a decision by faith to believe it. In other words, we choose to believe that, as the Bible teaches, God sent Jesus to die for our sins and whoever chooses to believe that will not have to die for their own sins but will be saved instead.

ConfessAfter we've accepted the fact that we all need God and made a choice to believe that Jesus Christ is the way back to God, the last thing to do is to say a prayer of confession. We simply pray something like this: "God, I'm truly sorry for all of my sins. I choose to believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins. So I accept Jesus Christ now as my Savior, my Lord, and my Sin-Sacrifice. Save my soul, Jesus, I make you my Lord and Savior." That's it, friends! It only takes a moment--it's just important to sincerely mean it from your heart. By the way, it's all about believing in our hearts. After we make the choice to just believe it in our hearts, only then do we begin to understand it all with our intellect.
